TraderChamp is a skill based fantasy stock contest platform. Participants compete by selecting 5 stocks and building portfolios for scoring purposes only. No real securities trades are executed and no brokerage accounts are involved.
Step 1: Join a Contest
Before the contest starts you select 5 stocks. You can change your picks until 9:25 AM Eastern Time, five minutes before the market opens. After that your portfolio is locked.
Choose from available contests with different entry fees and prize pools, or create your own contest. Each contest lasts for one trading day. It starts at 9:30 AM Eastern Time and ends at 4:00 PM Eastern Time.
Step 2: Select Your Stocks
Selections are used only to calculate contest scores using real market data. No buying or selling of real stocks occurs.
To add stocks to your portfolio, search for the stocks you are interested in and click the plus icon to include them. You cannot select the same stock twice. If you wish to remove a stock, click the minus icon next to your stock list.
If you are creating your own game, name your game and pick your stocks. Once you have joined or created a game, you can manage your portfolio from the "My Contest" link in the top navigation.
You cannot see your opponents' portfolios until the stock market opens at 9:30 AM Eastern Time. When the contest starts, every portfolio becomes visible.
All TraderChamp games are based on percentages. The higher the percentage gain of your portfolio, the better your chances of defeating your opponent. For example, if a stock is priced at $1000.00 per share and it increases by $100.00 per share to $1100.00, that is a gain of 10%. If a stock is priced at $20.00 per share and it goes up by $10.00 per share to $30.00, that is a gain of 50%. In this game, the $20.00 stock outperforms the $1000.00 stock.
After-hours and pre-market stock movements are not considered. Stock percentage gains or losses are based on the opening price as soon as the stock market officially opens at 9:30 AM Eastern Time.
Step 3: Compete and Track Performance
As markets move, your contest score updates based on the performance of your selected stocks according to the published scoring formula.
Step 4: Winners and Payouts
At the end of the contest, final scores are calculated and winners are determined.
Entry fees are pooled into the contest prize pool. TraderChamp may retain a service fee. Eligible winners are paid after contest completion through supported payout methods.
